Sharlene Ann Davis honored

Sampson Masonic Lodge #298 in Theodosia honored Sharlene Ann Davis with its 2018 Community Builder Award during the Masons’ May 12 Wife and Widow Appreciation Luncheon at Cookie’s Restaurant at Theodosia Marina and Resort. Davis is shown here with, from left, master of Sampson Lodge Lewis Nauss, senior warden Randy Reid and junior warden Tom McMillon. Each year the Masons select someone who is not affiliated with the fraternity who has demonstrated exemplary service to improve the community. This year’s certificate cites Davis’ many years of volunteer service to civic and community organizations dedicated to improving the Theodosia area. The annual luncheon is intended to thank the wives and widows of Sampson Lodge members as well as other area women who support the Masons throughout the year. Sampson Lodge member Elmer Roberson sang patriotic songs and performed a tribute to the mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers in attendance. Eastern Star chapter #130 from Theodosia and Robert Burns Masonic Lodge #496 from Gainesville were also represented at the event.
