Parking lot rollover
Rescue personnel responded Sunday morning to a rollover vehicle accident on the south side of Town & Country Supermarket in Gainesville. Ozark County Sheriff’s Deputy Kyle Hannaford said the elderly driver, whose name was not released, apparently drove over the raised curb on the south edge of the store’s parking lot, and the car tumbled over the embankment, landing wheels up. In addition to the sheriff’s department, Gainesville Volunteer Fire Department first responders and Ozark County Ambulance assisted with the rescue. After several minutes, the driver, who told bystanders she was 81, was extracted from the wrecked vehicle and was able to walk to the ambulance, where she was evaluated for injuries. She declined further treatment at the scene.
