Offices closed Monday
State, city and county offices will be closed Monday, Feb. 19, in observance of the Missouri state holiday honoring George Washington’s birthday. Monday is also a federal holiday marking Presidents Day, which commemorates Washington’s birthday as well as Abraham Lincoln’s. Missouri celebrated Lincoln’s birthday separately with a holiday on Tuesday, Feb. 12. Some counties, including Ozark, opted not to observe Feb. 12 as a holiday but instead will include Friday, Nov. 23, as part of the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Center in Gainesville, as well as the Gainesville License Bureau, will be closed, as will banks and post offices. The Ozark County Times, the Ozark County Volunteer Library and most retail business will be open regular hours on Monday.
