Nurse Practitioner Vigna joins Gainesville Clinic

Trisha Vigna

Trisha Vigna, MSN, APRN, FNP, recently joined Edward Henegar, D.O., and Aaron Newton, M.D. on the staff of the Ozarks Medical Center’s Gainesville clinic.

Vigna will be available to meet community residents at OMC-Gainesville’s free BBQ tailgate party from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, before the Gainesville High School Bulldogs basketball game. The clinic is at 37 Medical Drive in Gainesville, next to the Gainesville Health Care Center. The first 100 people who arrive will receive a Gainesville Bulldog rally towel.

Vigna is a native of Mountain Home, Arkansas, where she graduated from high school and continued her studies at Arkansas State University, completing prerequisites before earning an associate of science in nursing degree from North Arkansas College in Harrison.

She worked for four years at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, where she provided care and support to pediatric patients from birth to age 21. She also spent time as a school nurse at Mountain Home Junior High and High School and was a home health nurse at North Arkansas Home Care.

While pursuing her master’s degree, Vigna worked as a registered nurse in the Baxter Regional Medical Center emergency room for nine years, caring for patients of all ages. In 2016 she became a nurse practitioner at Fairlamb Senior Health Clinic on the BRMC campus, specializing in geriatric care. An OMC news release said Vigna’s move to OMC’s Gainesville clinic gives her the opportunity to focus more on pediatrics while still providing services for women’s health and geriatrics.

Vigna married her husband, Franco, in September. They have five children: Brock, 18; Kylie, 12; Kaden, 11; Drew, 10; and an 8-month-old foster daughter. They are active in the children’s ministry at East Side Baptist Church in Mountain Home, and they enjoy visiting the lake, traveling as a family and watching their children play sports and dance.

The Gainesville clinic is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information or an appointment, call 417-679-4613.
