A rainbow appears in the spray from the hose on the Gainesville VFD ladder truck as it responded with Theodosia Area and Pontiac / Price Place VFDs to a structure fire Monday afternoon in Theodosia.

Emergency personnel watch as firefighters check for hot spots Monday at the Theodosia fire scene. A structure and pickup truck were destroyed in the blaze; however, there were no injuries, and firefighters were able to save nearby mobile homes.

Theodosia Area Volunteer Fire Department responded Monday afternoon to a structure fire on Homestead Drive in the area behind Cash Saver Pantry on Highway 160. In a post on its Facebook page, TAVFD  expressed thanks to the Ozark County Sheriff’s dispatcher and to Pontiac / Price Place and Gainesville VFDs for responding in mutual aid as only 3 TAVFD personnel were available when the call came in. Two GVFD and three PPPVFD personnel responded tankers and a ladder truck. Ozark County Ambulance was on standby. “No lives were lost and there were no injuries,” the post said. “Everyone got out safely prior to our arrival. The double-wide mobile home was “on the ground when firefighters arrived,” a spokesperson said. It’s thought the fire may have started in the attic crawl space, but the cause is unknown. A pickup was also destroyed in the blaze, but  nearby mobile homes were saved with only minor damage to a next-door structure. At press time Tuesday, the Times had not confirmed the name of the property owner.
