Meints resigns as emergency director

Meints

Brett Meints has resigned as emergency management director for Ozark County, the city of Gainesville and the village of Theodosia, effective June 28. In an email to Ozark County fire department chiefs, the Ozark County Sheriff, the Ozark County Times and others, Meints said Thursday his reason for resigning was “personal and private.”
Meints was named to the position in May 2016 following the retirement of former director Wally Reeves.
Originally from Hardy, Arkansas, Meints and his wife, Jamie, retired to the Thornfield area in August 2015 after Brett spent more than 30 years as a firefighter and paramedic in Waukesha, Wisconsin, where he was also a former instructor for firefighters and emergency management services.
In his email, Meints said he would continue to respond with the Thornfield Volunteer Fire Department as a firefighter and first responder. He closed by saying, “It has been a pleasure. Stay safe!”
