Man arrested with meth confesses to stealing heavy machinery, car and burglarizing home

Mountain Home, Arkansas, resident Timothy Aaron Liveley, 40, has been charged with four class D felonies in Ozark County in connection with a string of alleged crimes last fall. 

Four separate warrants, including three warrants with $1,500 cash-only bonds and another with a $2,500 cash-only bond, have been issued for Liveley. At press time, he had not yet been arrested. 

Liveley is charged with stealing a motor vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, second-degree burglary and stealing $750 or more.

The probable cause statement in the cases, prepared by Ozark County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Brown, indicates that two separate victims came to the sheriff’s department to report crimes and indicated they believed Liveley may have been involved. 

The report says that Jim Wallace reported his 910 Caterpillar Loader was stolen from his home near Mammoth. Wallace told the officer that the loader must’ve been taken between Sept. 11 and 18, 2020, and he believed Liveley might be involved because of his interest in the heavy machinery. 

Then, on Oct. 27, Cody Kendall reportedly told the sheriff’s department that his home on J Highway had been broken into and burglarized the night before. Kendall told the officer that several items were taken, including a safe. Kendall said he believed Liveley and another man were responsible. 

A week later, on Nov. 3, David Strain reported that his blue 2000 model Ford Crown Victoria had been stolen from a home, also on J Highway.

Brown made contact with the other man Kendall believed was involved in the burglary of his home. At the time, the suspect was reportedly incarcerated at the Baxter County, Arkansas, Jail, where he was being held on unrelated charges. The man denied any involvement in the crimes but indicated that he knew Liveley was involved in all three thefts. 

On Nov. 17, Brown found Liveley on County Road 527 and arrested him on outstanding warrants. The officer asked for consent to search the suspect’s vehicle, and Liveley reportedly granted access to the officer. 

“During the search, marijuana and a glass methamphetamine smoking pipe were located in the seat in a cigarette pack,” Brown wrote in the report. “A search of Liveley’s person was completed, and inside his left front pocket I located a plastic baggie containing a crystalline substance that later field tested positive to methamphetamine.”

Under oath during a later interview, Liveley reportedly admitted to the theft of the Caterpillar loader and the Crown Victoria and the burglary of Kendall’s home.
