Local band Creek Stink releases album
The Ozark County band Creek Stink will perform an album-release show celebrating the recent release of its new 14-song album Paranoid People at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Wages Brewing Company in West Plains. The band will also perform at 9 p.m. Friday, April 5, at Lindberg’s Tavern in Springfield, and from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at The Antler in Gainesville.
The band consists of Sycamore couple Eric “Bogwalker” Tumminia and Amelia LaMair, Carlos Ferrer of the Oran Mór Community in Wasola and Petey Wesley of the Eastwind Community in Tecumseh. Creek Stink started in 2014 and has played at a wide variety of venues and events, from local microbreweries and Springfield bars to the Old Time Music and Ozarks Heritage Festival in West Plains.
Influenced by classic country and bluegrass as well as grunge and punk rock, Creek Stink plays mostly original songs written by Tumminia along with some old-time standards. Paranoid People was recorded, mixed and mastered by Eric Schuchmann at The Studio in Springfield. The album features Bogwalker on lead vocals, guitar and drums; Ferrer on banjo, percussion and backing vocals; Wesley on fiddle, slide guitar and backing vocals; and LaMair on electric bass guitar. The artwork is by former Ozark County resident Melissa Honeybee and Wesley, and was screen-printed by LaMair.
Paranoid People CDs are $10 and will be available at upcoming shows. The album, along with other recordings, can also be heard and purchased at https://creekstink.bandcamp.com/. Find “Creek Stink” on Facebook for more information.
