Lions Club donates to Ozark County Sheriff's Department
The Lions Club presented a check to the Ozark County Sheriff’s Department at their meeting Thursday, April 26, in Gainesville. The gift is a result of Dan Shea’s donation of $500 in memory of his brother, long-time Lions Club member Denny Shea. “We chose to take part of those funds, purchase a gun and raffle it separately,” said Chris Harlin, cousin to the Sheas. “The raffle netted around $600, which we donated in Denny’s name to the sheriff’s department as Denny spent his entire career working in law enforcement.” This year’s Lions Club auction, held Friday, April 20, netted more than $21,000, a new record.
