It’s cookbook season! Share recipes, tributes for 2017 cookbook
For more than a decade, the Ozark County Times has asked readers to share their favorite recipes for our Ozark County Cookin’ cookbook, and this year, we’re asking you again to share current recipes – as well as recipes, anecdotes, stories and photos of great cooks from years gone by.
The 2017 edition of Ozark County Cookin’, a glossy-cover, magazine-style cookbook with color on every page, will be published Nov. 15. We’re asking readers to share recipes from their own collections as well as photos, recipes and brief stories about mothers, grandmothers, aunts, neighbors and friends who fed their families and friends as part of their Ozarks legacy of love. Sharing a photo and recipe is a great way to remember and honor these great cooks of the past from Ozark County – or elsewhere.
We’ll draw a name from all those who submit a recipe or tribute, and that person will win a check for $100 – just in time for Christmas shopping!
This year’s cookbook will be distributed free at the Times office, Town & Country Supermarket in Gainesville, Cash Saver Pantry in Theodosia and anywhere the Ozark County Times is sold.
The 2017 edition of Ozark County Cookin’ is also an ideal way for area merchants and groups to advertise their Christmastime and year-round merchandise because the cookbook will be kept and used for months, even years. A portion of the advertising proceeds will be donated to local charities. For more information see our ad on page 13 of this week’s Times or call us at 417-679-4641.
The recipe and advertising deadline is Friday, Nov. 3. To submit a recipe, tribute and photo, email them to email@example.com, mail them to the Times at P.O. Box 188, Gainesville, MO 65655 (let us know if the photo needs to be returned), or bring them by our office on the south side of the Gainesville square.
