Free kids games Friday and Saturday morning at Hootin an Hollarin

Hootin and Hollarin volunteer Pamela Sisney, center, directed a new free attraction for kids this year, a hillbilly candy walk. The event, similar to a traditional cake walk, had children walking in a circle to the sound of music. When the music stopped, the children stopped on the nearest number. Whoever was standing on the number that was drawn got to choose a prize from the candy bin.

Adaleah, left, and Caedmon Moore enjoyed the corn-digging tub Friday morning.

Merryck Moore took his best shot at the tin can ball throw. Adaleah, Caedmon and Merryck are the children of West Plains residents David and Sara Moore and the grandchildren of Gainesville residents Mary Ann and David Moore.

Hootin an Hollarin volunteer Pamela Sisney led two rounds of free kids games just after the terrapin races Friday and Saturday mornings. The games, held from 11 a.m. to noon each day, included a corn-digging tub, a tin can ball throw and a candy walk.
