Firetruck pump testing

The Gainesville Volunteer Fire Department recently completed a test of its pumping equipment near Pontiac Cove Marina with assistance from members of the Pontiac / Price Place Volunteer Fire Department. Gainesville VFD chief Ed Doiron said the city’s ISO rating will be re-evaluated in a few weeks, and the department is working to get everything ready, hoping for an improved rating that could mean lower fire insurance rates for Gainesville residnts.
