Recently passed federal legislation allows qualifying seniors (age 60 and older) to use Missouri Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program vouchers to purchase produce at local farmers’ markets. Eligible seniors receive 10 vouchers ($5 each), totaling $50 annually to purchase fruits, vegetables, herbs and honey.

These vouchers will be distributed from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, July 15,  at The Center on Highway 5 north at the Gainesville city limits. Applicants must provide proof of ID (birth certificate or driver’s license), proof of residency (utility bill, bank statement, pay check, property tax receipt, government-issued check or housing rental contract) and proof of income (maximum gross household income of not more than 185 percent of the annual federal poverty level).

For more information, call The Center at 679-4746 or call 417-862-0762.
