Disc golf course opens at Lost Woods
Jim Cleland tosses a disc Sunday as, from left, Matt Shockey, Russ Burns, Kevin Carder and Kodi Shockey watch in the two-day Disc Golf Monkey Tournament held last weekend at Lost Woods Golf Course in Theodosia. The tournament brought 102 participants from throughout Missouri and as far away as Salt Lake City, Utah, to the facility, which recently added a 10-hole disc golf course. Golf course manager Matt Shockey expressed thanks to Theodosia Marina Resort, Wing and Fin Resort, Bull Shoals Lake package store, Nadine Cook, James and Karen Langston, Greg Nagel, Matt Hitt, and Dan and LeeAnn Fisk for sponsoring the disc golf baskets that create the course. Lost Woods is already scheduled as a site on the Disc Golf Monkey Tour starting in April 2018. The event is expected to bring in another 100 or more participants, Shockey said. The disc golf course is open to the public. For more information, call Shockey at 417--294-5972.
