Clayton Leroy completes SWCD internship here

Clayton Leroy

Clayton Leroy of Dora, an accounting major at Missouri State University in Springfield, worked at the Ozark County Soil & Water Conservation District office this summer, finishing his internship on Friday, June 29. SWCD now is looking for an intern to fill the position next year. The deadline to apply is noon on Thursday, July 12.
“I really enjoyed the internship, meeting landowners and learning the ins and out of the cost-share program,” Leroy said. “Talking on the phone, helping customers and meeting new people has helped me become more comfortable in an office environment.”
The Ozark County SWCD is now accepting resumes for the 2019 internship position, which is one or two days a week and runs through July 1, 2019. Student interns gain work experience in a hands-on learning environment intended to promote personal growth while mentoring with the SWCD board of supervisors, staff and conservation partners. Eligible candidates must be enrolled in college. Resumes can be dropped off at the office at 260 Main St., Suite 1, in Gainesville from  8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, emailed to Laramie.Johnson@swcd.mo.gov. or mailed to Ozark County Soil & Water Conservation District, P.O. Box 476, Gainesville, MO 65655. For more information, stop by the Ozark County SWCD office or call 417-679-4876.
