Canine Rye helps with drug-finding house search

Ozark County Sheriff’s canine Rye sits next to a large collection of drugs and drug paraphernalia (also shown below) that was confiscated from an Ozark County residence on Dec. 8. The drugs and other items were reportedly found when Ozark County Deputies Justin Brown, Dustin Smith, Justin Urich and Steve Ator, joined by Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy Jonathan Harley and his sheriff’s canine Amigo, executed a search warrant on the Ozark County residence to search for a wanted fugitive. Officers say the fugitive was not found, but the search turned up the illegal items. Three individuals were arrested. Charges are expected to be filed soon by Ozark County Prosecuting Attorney John Garrabrant.
