Bond set at $25,000 for Thornfield man charged with selling meth in Arkansas

Coddington

Jared Coddington, 22, of Thornfield, was arrested March 28 in Gassville, Arkansas, and was charged in Baxter County with delivery of methamphetamine, unlawful use of a communication device, distribution of a controlled substance near a facility and possession of meth with the purpose to deliver in connection with a four-month sting operation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Arkansas’s 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force. Destiny Reasons, 21, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, was also arrested in the case.
The Baxter Bulletin in Mountain Home, Arkansas, reported that officers set Coddington up for a controlled buy in January after suspicions arose that he was selling meth, according to affidavits in the case. During that transaction, Coddington reportedly sold a bag of meth to an individual in the parking lot of a Mountain Home business. According to The Bulletin’s story, reported by Josh Dooley, the powder was brought to officers to field test, and it came back positive for methamphetamine.
Officers then set Coddington up for a second buy on March 26, and the Thornfield man reportedly made contact with the “buyer,” selling 3.5 grams of meth for $250 from a residence on Glenstone Drive in Mountain Home. The powder was again given to officers to field test, and it came back negative for methamphetamine. The substances will be sent to the Arkansas state crime lab for further identification, according to The Bulletin.
Officers obtained a search warrant, and on March 28 they raided the residence on Glenstone Drive, where they found meth, pipes, multiple sets of digital scales and different substances commonly used to “cut” methamphetamine. Coddington was not present at the house; however, Reasons was present and was arrested. Officers later located and arrested Coddington in Gassville. He was in possession of methamphetamine at the time of the arrest, Dooley reported.
Coddington and Reasons were taken to the Baxter County Jail. Coddington, who was reportedly out of jail on bond in connection with another chase in which he was charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a drug permises and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, is currently being held on a $25,000 bond, according to the Baxter County Sheriff’s website. Reasons is no longer listed as an inmate on the site. Coddington is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Court at 9 a.m. April 12.
