Blunt visits new MOCH facility

U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt was in Gainesville Tuesday to visit the new Missouri Ozarks Community Health building on Elm Street north of the Gainesville post office. The $1.2 million, 6,000-square-foot medical and dental facility was partially funded by a $900,000 Health Infrastructure Investment Program grant awarded in 2016 through the Affordable Care Act’s Community Health Center fund. A news release from Blunt’s office says he is chairman of the subcommittee that funds the Department of Health and Human Services and that he “led efforts to secure $1.63 billion in this year’s government funding bill for community health centers.” It also says he worked to “extend funding for community health centers in the Bipartisan Budget Act ... signed into law last month.” MOCH invites the community to an open house to be held April 18 at the new facility.
