Authorities executing search warrant seize drugs, firearms from Dora home
These firearms, drugs and drug paraphernalia were confiscated from a Dora-area home late Saturday night by officers from several area law enforcement agencies, including the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect fled from the home and is still at large, but Sheriff Darrin Reed said he isn’t considered dangerous.
Ozark County Sheriff Darrin Reed and Chief Deputy Winston Collins say the suspect who fled from a Dora home around 10:45 p.m. Saturday, July 21, when officers executed a search warrant there isn’t thought to be dangerous. The search was a joint effort by the Ozark and Douglas County sheriff’s offices, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Drug Task Force.
“We know who he is, and he isn’t a threat to anyone,” Reed told the Times. “I know some people were worried about that, but we don’t believe there is anything to be concerned with.”
Collins agreed, explaining that he expects charges to be filed and a warrant issued for the suspect’s arrest.
The search warrant was executed on the Dora home, which Reed says is “right on the Ozark-Douglas County line,” after Douglas County Sheriff Chris DeGase received information from one of his sources.
Officers confiscated a variety of firearms, methamphetamine, narcotics, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
