‘OFF THE STREETS’. Standoff near Twin Bridges results in huge meth bust, $25k in cash and arrest of wanted fugitive

Marcelino Sauseda

A 41-year-old Arkansas man with ties to the MS13 and AR13 gangs had a short standoff with Douglas County law enforcement officers Oct. 9 at a residence near Twin Bridges, just north of the Ozark County line in Douglas County.

Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase said  Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy Cpl. Taylor Wallace and Deputies Kobby Roberts, Michael Schupbach and James Nelson surrounded the residence at 9:20 a.m. The officers obtained a search warrant for the residence and found $25,000 in cash, 200 grams of methamphetamine, 170 grams of marijuana and a firearm.

According to a DCSO statement, officers were made aware of a Marcelino Sauseda’s presence at the residence in the Twin Bridges community last week.

Several warrants had been issued for Sauseda’s arrest in unrelated cases, including a nationwide Arkansas probation-and-parole warrant issued in a case where Sauseda was convicted of manufacturing a controlled substance, robbery, burglary and theft.

“I love my guys’ tenacity. They are going on about 30 hours straight [working] right now,” Degase said in a post after Sauseda was arrested. The post included several photos of the drugs, cash and weapons. “What a great day. We got this off the streets and out of Douglas County,” Degase said.
