Gainesville Junior High Bulldogs open baseball season with big wins

The Gainesville Junior High School Bulldogs baseball team opened their season with two wins over Liberty. The Bulldogs won the first game, 12-3 and the second 10-4.
Players pitching were Jake Leeker, Bryce Hambelton, Landry Jenkins, Dymon Van Eperen, Aden Yarger and Briar Walrath. Catchers were Daden House, Mason Jennings, Jake Leeker and Camden Evans.
Players who scored runs were Mason Jennings 1, Landry Jenkins 3, Jake Leeker 2, Bryce Hambelton 1, Dymon Van Eperen 1, Ryan Poe 1, Kadyn Hayes 1, Aden Yarger 2, Wyatt Alms 1, Dawson Duke 1, Colton Lawson 1, Deric Luna 1, Gavin Rowbotham 1, Jon Meals 1, Justus DeVries 1, Camden Evans 1, Cooper Friend 1.
The junior Bulldogs took on Fordland next and won 4-1 with Bryce Hambelton and Dymon Van Eperen pitching and Jake Leeker and Mason Jennings catching. Mason Jennings scored 2 runs, and Landry Jenkins and Wyatt Alms each scored 1.
Another two wins were added to the young team’s record when they defeated Mansfield twice, 13-2 and 6-2. Pitchers were Jake Leeker and Briar Walrath. Catchers were Daden House and Camden Evans. Bryce Hambelton and Jake Leeker scored 3 runs. Dymon Van Eperen and Landry Jenkins scored 2, while Mason Jennings, Ryan Poe, Kadyn Hayes, Carter Wise, Aden Yarger, Camden Evans, Ivan Bowen, Justus DeVries and Briar Walrath each scored 1.
Coach Morris Jenkins said 22 boys are playing junior high baseball this season.
