Gainesville FBLA attends state conference

The Gainesville FBLA Parliamentary Procedure team took third place at the State Leadership Conference April 8-10 in Springfield. On April 8-10, FBLA members attended the State Leadership Conference at the University Plaza Hotel in Springfield. The 19 members attending earned top-five positions in their events at the district level that allowed them to compete at the state level.
The members participated in workshops, talked with potential colleges, networked with other FBLA members from across the state and listened to inspiring keynote speakers competed in events.
At the awards ceremony, GHS member Ben Pointer was awarded eighth place in intro to FBLA and ninth place in intro to financial math. The public service announcement team – Chasity Mansker and Shai Meek –  placed sixth.
The parliamentary procedure team – Eli Amyx, Blakely Morrison, Abigail Milligan, Madison Trivitt and Shelby Kinsey – won third place. They now advance to national competition along with Abigail Milligan, who placed fourth in introduction to parlia-mentary procedures.
Nationals will be held this summer in Baltimore, Maryland.
