Donations to YEP backpack program earn entries in drawing for new office chair
In honor of its 10th anniversary, the Gainesville Youth Empowerment Project is extending its appreciation to everyone who makes a donation during the month of April by entering them into a drawing for a Serta Smart Layers office chair, which retails for $299. A drawing will be held at the end of the month to determine who receives the chair.
YEP teaches students about community service, fundraising and philanthropy. As their main long-time community service project, YEP members run the Backpack Program at Gainesville R-V Schools. The program serves about 40 students each week at an approximate cost of $120 per child for a school year.
All checks must be received by April 30 to be entered into the drawing, but donations are always welcome. Checks should be made payable to Gainesville YEP, with the words “backpack program” written in the subject line and sent to: Gainesville Youth Empowerment Project, c/o Michelle Pointer, P.O. Box 236, Gainesville, MO 65655. Those contributing will receive a letter of confirmation for their tax-deductible donation from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks.
