The Real Ozarks is here!

The 2019 Real Ozarks Magazine, a glossy-covered, full-color guide to exploring Ozark County and the surrounding area, is now available at the Times office and wherever the  newspaper is sold.

The magazine, published annually by the Times, is distributed at visitor centers throughout the state. This year’s edition features information on scenic drives; recreation opportunities on the county’s lakes, rivers and natural areas; fishing tips and camping areas;  events and festivals; scenic drives and road trips; and the county’s historic grist mills. The guide is accented by vibrant photographs taken in Ozark County by local residents. This year’s stunning cover photo of the Spring Creek arm of Bull Shoals Lake was submitted by Isabella resident Lonnie Schmidt.

The recreation-area section of The Real Ozarks profiles Caney Mountain Conservation Area, Glade Top Trail, Noblett Lake, North Fork Recreation Area, Hercules Glade Wilderness Area and the Pigeon Creek trail system. A map of area trails gives readers appealing options for lacing up their boots and exploring the area’s natural beauty by foot.

An advertisers’ index lets readers quickly find informational ads that share what area businesses offer.

The magazine is available free at the Times office and other newspaper vendor locations. Readers from outside the area can order one to be shipped for a $5 mailing fee. Call 417-679-4641 to provide address and payment details. Local resort or business owners are welcome to pick up a bundle of The Real Ozarks magazines from the Times office to distribute to guests and visitors.
