Ozark Mountain Bass Club holds year’s last night tourney

The Ozark Mountain Bass Club held its last night tournament of the year on Aug. 25 out of Pontiac Cove on Bull Shoals Lake. Several fish were caught. Jigs and single-spins appeared to work well.

First place was won by Greg Phillips and Caleb Cline with 24.23 pounds. Second place went to Pete Pearson and Jacob Wisecup with 17.91 pounds. Glen Plaster and Josh Turner won third place with 17.08 pounds. Pete Pearson had big bass with 3.02 pounds.

Starting Sept. 15, the club will resume having daytime tournaments again and will be returning back to Pontiac.

October will be the last tournament for the 2018 year.

The club is looking for new members to start off the 2019 season, which begins in November. The club meets the first Tuesday of each month at the Lions Club building on Third Street in Gainesville. Those interested in fishing with the club are invited to attend one of the meetings.
