Opening of Oakland Park delayed until May 18

The seasonal opening of Oakland Park on Bull Shoals Lake in Arrkansas is being delayed by the Army Corps of Engineers’ Mountain Home Project Office from the planned May 1 to May 18 instead, weather permitting.
The delay is due to the park’s electrical system being replaced and the roads being repaved. The Corps said in a news release that it will keep the public aware of any new delays that may occur, and it asked, “Please do not go around the barricaded areas” where work is being done. The Corps said it “will work quickly to restore the area for camping.”
