Benefit to be held Friday for Richard and Cindi Miller

A benefit fish fry and auction will be held Friday, March 23, at The Center to help Richard and Cindi recover from the March 11 fire that destroyed their home off AA Highway north of Gainesville. The cause of the fire has not been determined, but investigators said it apparently started in the kitchen area at the rear of the house, shown here.

Cheney Auction Company will host a benefit auction and fish fry dinner to help Richard and Cindi Miller at The Center in Gainesville from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 23. The Millers’ home was destroyed by fire on March 11 – at the same time Cindi Miller was being admitted to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains for treatment of pneumonia. Cindi works with a dog rescue organization, and four of her dogs perished in the fire. The blaze destroyed  everything in the house.
The fish fry dinner will be $10 per plate and will include fried fish, baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad and dessert. Donations of auction items are being accepted. For information about donating, call Calli Van Ranken at 620-886-0048.
A fund has also been established for the Millers at Century Bank of the Ozarks. Make checks to the Richard and Cindi Miller fund and mail to P.O. Box 68, Gainesville, MO 65655.
