Sheriff's report: Dec. 4-10, 2017

Dec. 4

10:13 a.m. – Well-being/ security check requested on a 70-year-old male who has not returned the reporting party’s calls. Ozark County Sheriff’s Department rendered assistance. Checked OK.

3:47 p.m. – Medical: 69-year-old male has swelling in arms and legs and is having trouble breathing and had previous bowel issues. Ozark County Ambulance responded. Caulfield and Bakersfield volunteer fire departments were toned out; Bakersfield responded. Patient was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

3:56 p.m. – Caller on County Road 806 reported that several tools and other items had been stolen. Officer spoke with caller and will follow up with potential suspects and the caller.

5:34 p.m. – Medical: 94-year-old female with history of heart condition is having difficulty breathing. Cox Ambulance, Caney Mountain and Brixey-Rockbridge VFDs were toned out. Patient refused to be transported by ambulance. At 6:33 p.m., Caney Mountain VFD asked ambulance to return, and patient was transported to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains by Cox Ambulance at 8:08 p.m. 

6:47 p.m. – Medical: 80-year-old male with heart history is dizzy and has low blood pressure. OCA responded. Patient was transported to OMC.

7:19 p.m. –Vehicle stop near Hardenville post office. OCSD rendered assistance.

10:05 p.m. – Medical: 17-year-old male is having an allergic reaction. OCA and Gainesville Fire Department responded. Patient was transported to BRMC.

11:12 p.m. – Medical: 60-year-old is having a possible heart attack. Ava Ambulance provided mutual air, escorted subject to Air Evac landing zone at 11:26.

11:22 p.m. – Caller reported suspicious vehicle at Highway 160 and Hillside. OCSD rendered assistance.

 

Dec. 5

2:22 a.m. – Traffic Stop on Z Highway OCSD rendered assistance.

2:37 a.m. – Three brown-and-white cows are out at Highways 160 and P. OCSD contacted possible owners.

6:29 a.m. – Medical: 75-year-old female fell and can’t get up, and husband can’t do anything to help. Theodosia Area VFD and OCA responded. Patient was transported to BRMC.

7:08 a.m. – Caller hit animal at Highways 5 and W. Both headlights were damaged and other front-end damage incurred on the 2001 silver Pontiac Bonne-ville. Wanted it on recrd.

7:24 a.m. – Prisoner transport: Jon Latham, and also Josiah Wheat and Owen Dobbs in Douglas County. 

7:36 a.m. – Burglary reported at Gainesville Ag Supply. Report taken.

7:54 a.m. – Two black cows are out at Highways 160 and P. OCSD contacted possible owner and left message.

8:05 a.m. – Burglary reported at West Plains Propane. Report taken.

11:12 a.m. – Well-being / security check requested at a residence with a white Geo Tracker in driveway. OCSD rendered assistance; no one was home.

12:05 p.m. – Lift assistance requested on County Road 306. Caney Mountain VFD responded.

2:00 p.m. –Black longhorn cow on Highway 95. OCSD and Missouri State Highway Patrol rendered assistance; cow is now in a lot.

3:32 p.m. – Civil incident on County Road 511. Handled by officer.

5:22 p.m. – Caller said their car had been hit at the car wash and the suspect drove away. OCSD rendered assistance.

7:27 p.m. – Caller reported a dark blue Chevy driving erratically in Town & Country Supermarket parking lot; suspect almost hit the caller and was squalling vehicle’s tires. OCSD responded; unable to locate. 

10:04 p.m. – Domestic disturbance: caller said suspect shoved her mother. OCSD responded; checked OK.

10:58 p.m. – Vehicle stop at Highways 181 and 160. OCSD rendered assistance.

 

Dec. 6

5:17 a.m. – Lift assistance needed for 68-year-old male. Gainesville Fire Department responded.

1:13 p.m. – Two-vehicle accident has blocked roadway at Highways 5 north and 160. No injuries. OCSD rendered assistance.

3:45 p.m. – Man with a board is threatening another man in OCSD lobby. Report taken.

4:23 p.m. – Caller hit deer in vehicle on Highway 95. OCSD rendered assistance.

4:32 p.m. – Caller reported trespassing at site on Z Highway. OCSD took report.

10:36 p.m. – Suspicious vehicle, a green truck, reported at old Vaught motel. OCSD rendered assistance.

 

Dec. 7

4:27 a.m. – Medical: Life alert activated by 76-year-old female; alert company is unsure of medical situation. Timber Knob VFD responded. False alarm.

11:37 a.m. – Medical: Person called 911, but the call did not come to OCSD. Ambulance needed. Theo-dosia Area VFD, OCA and Air Evac responded. Patient was transported.  

12:06 p.m. – Medical: 80-year-old male can’t walk. Taney County ambulance was dispatched, but reporting party canceled the call.

1:30 p.m. – Suspicious incident: someone turned on the water in a house that caller owns but no longer lives in. Officer talked with reporting party on the phone.

6:05 p.m. – Caller said someone had borrowed a saddle and now won’t return it. OCSD took report.

7:22 p.m. – Caller said a woman is walking down County Road 511 holding a dog. OCSD responded; unable to locate.

 

Dec. 8

7:58 a.m. – Prisoner transport: Owen Dobbs.

1:04 p.m. – Aid another agency: Children’s Division.

 

Dec. 9

4:55 p.m. – Caller had the tags stolen off his car, a 1996 Chevy Camaro. Entered into MULES.

5:49 p.m. – Medical: 66-year-old male has chest pains. Mutual aid with Cox Ambulance. Dora VFD responded.

10:28 p.m. – Suspicious vehicle reported at school. Caller wanted it on record.

 

Dec. 10

12:31 a.m. – Suspicious person reported on Cedar-Oak Drive. OCSD rendered assistance.

11:19 a.m. – Disturbance reported. One subject said he and his uncle had gotten into an argument over some property. He was advised to come into office and fill out a statement. The other party called 911 and was also advised to come into the sheriff’s office and fill out a statement.   Neither party would cooperate.

1:04 p.m. – Caller said she is trying to get her property out of the house she has sold and has until the 15th to gather all of her items, according to the attorney. But caller says the new property owners are not allowing her to get her personal property. Officer spoke to all parties, and arrangements were made to remove the property later.

3:10 p.m. – Caller said someone stole two heating units from a location in Gainesville. OCSD rendered assistance.

5:07 p.m. – Caller said she is getting threatening texts from her ex-boyfriend. Handled by OCSD officer.
