Columbus Day
Most state, county and city offices will be closed Monday in observance of Columbus Day. Banks and some other offices and businesses may be closed as well.  The Ozark County Times and many retail businesses will be open regular business hour.

Hootin and Hollarin volunteer Pamela Sisney, center, directed a new free attraction for kids this year, a hillbilly candy walk. The event, similar to a traditional cake walk, had children walking in a circle to the sound of music. When the music stopped, the children stopped on the nearest number. Whoever was standing on the number that was drawn got to choose a prize from the candy bin.
Hootin an Hollarin volunteer Pamela Sisney led two rounds of free kids games just after the terrapin races Friday and Saturday mornings. The games, held from 11 a.m. to noon each day, included a corn-digging tub, a tin can ball throw and a candy walk.
