The FBLA National Leadership Conference was held June 28 through July 2 in Baltimore, Maryland, where the Gainesville High School parliamentary procedures team competed and Gainesville FBLA member Eli Amyx was installed as the 2018-2019 North Central Region vice president.
The students traveled to the East Coast with adviser Chelsey Gilmore. During the trip, the group spent time at the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial and other historical landmarks in nearby Washington, D.C. The group also explored Baltimore’s Inner Harbor area.
In addition to competing, the parliamentary procedure team assisted Eli Amyx in campaigning for the national office of North Central Region vice president. Through the campaigning process, the group networked with FBLA members from across the nation, as well as students from Puerto Rico, China and Haiti. Although the parliamentary procedures team did not make it on stage, Eli Amyx did when he was installed as the 2018-2019 North Central Region vice president. Eli will travel to Reston, Virginia, in the next few weeks to take part in leadership training alongside the rest of the FBLA National Officer Team.
