BIG BOB’S FISHING REPORT

The best bass fishing is at night with plastic worms, jigs and single spins. Look for bass along bluff ends in 20 to 25 feet of water. Early mornings are showing some top-water activity, especially if it’s cloudy. A few anglers are having some luck with deep-diving crankbaits, but it’s a hit-and-miss strategy. Walleye can be found along the bluffs in 30 feet or more of water on night crawlers or baits like the Berkley flicker shad. Norfork Lake still has some white bass in the Liner area, and rooster tails or sliders are the baits of choice. Catfish and big bluegills are available along deep bluffs. For the catfish, try bluegill for bait and for the bluegills, night crawlers work well. We are in the blahs of summer, so all fishing is tough. The only thing to do is go out and try. Be safe on the water, and enjoy any time you can wet a line.
