Twenty-two units collected during Feb. 7 blood drive
Twenty donors gave a total of 22 units of blood at the Feb. 7 Red Cross blood drive in Gainesville. Ned Upton reached a milestone with 6 total gallons donated, Robert Robbins 5 gallons, and Linda McKinney and Keith Jacquin each hit the 2-gallon mark. Other donors included Danny Walker, Lisa Hoffman, Ken Ablan, Tom Bentele, Arvie Wooten, Jack Brewster, Merle Scott, Joe Easterday, Jim Glynn, Edward Beckham, Dawn Joslin, Norman Story, Malhon Schmucker, Jack Strong, Virginia Beckham and Robert Main.
The Red Cross also expressed thanks to volunteers Pam McGinnis, Carol Cooper, Ina Friend, Jacque Brubaker, Audrey Appelson, Bob Ronnins and Sandra Funk. Town & County Supermarket, First Baptist Church and Lilly Ridge Baptist Church donated refreshments for the canteen.
The next blood drive will be Wednesday, April 11, at First Baptist Church in Gainesville. The Gainesville Church of Christ will provide the refreshments, coordinated by Lana Cockrum.
