Soil and Water election, ice cream give-away Friday in Gainesville

The Ozark County Soil and Water Conservation District will hold an election from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, June 22, to elect supervisors to the district’s board of supervisors in Territory 2 and Territory 4. Candidates in Territory 2 are Konnie Plumlee and Marty Morrison. Territory 4 candidates are Janet Taber and J.D. McKee. Votes may be cast at the district office at 260 Main St. in Gainesville.
The district’s notice of election says, “All land representatives of any farm lying within Ozark County, Missouri are eligible to vote.” Land representatives are defined as the owner or a representative authorized by a power-of-attorney; the land representative must be a taxpayer in the county. In conjunction with the election, OCSWC will serve hamburgers and hot dogs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Ozark County Farm Bureau will celebrate Dairy Days by giving away Highland Dairy ice cream cups, compliments of dairy farmers Bryan and Jerri Sue Crawford.
