Apologetics conference set for April 20-21 at First Baptist Church in Gainesville

First Baptist Church in Gainesville will host an apologetics conference Friday and Saturday, April 20-21. Speaker Rob Phillips, with the Missouri Baptist Convention, will lead the sessions on apologetics, defined as “the defense of the Christian faith.”
Sessions will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
Friday’s topics will be “How can 4.5 billion people be wrong? An introduction to world religions and cults” and “Another Jesus, a different spirit, a different gospel: Common threads in world religions and cults.”
On Sunday, following the conference, the focus of the 10:45 a.m. service will be “Sharing your faith with people who don’t share your faith: Why it is important.”  And at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dallas Powell, from the North American Missions Board, will speak about missions and missionaries in North America.
