Alice McElwain offers quilt appraisals May 10

Hill ‘n Hollow Quilters Guild in Mountain Home, Arkansas, is making quilt appraisals available Thursday afternoon, May 10, by Alice McElwain, an American Quilter’s Society certified quilt appraiser and a member of the Professional Association of Appraisers of Quilted Textiles.  She is also a member of the American Quilt Study Group and M.O.K.A., a quilt study group of Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas, while participating in continuing education for her profession.
Each appraisal costs $50 and can be for insurance replacement value, fair market value or for donation value. Call 870-425-1105 for an appointment.
McElwain’s trunk show and presentation at the Guild’s May 11 monthly meeting is titled “Mothers: Historical, Hysterical & Otherwise” and  includes stories and quilts from history as well as a mother who is not so well known. Non-Guild members may attend the meeting to be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Family Life Center, Redeemer Lutheran Church, for a fee of $5 at the door.
