Zanoni news: March 28, 2018

The beautiful sunshine days are great. We hope to get the rain, and then maybe some of the cattle feeding will slow down. Then here comes fertilizer time.
I love this time of the year with the different kinds of flowers, fruit trees, Easter lillies, dogwoods (pink and white), white serviceberries, red buds and Bradford pears. The chickweed has our yard covered in front of the porch.
Jim Miller came to the farm from Springfield last week. He nearly always has a bargain of some kind for Paul. It was boxes of tools this time. He will probably be back for turkey season.
Paul helped Ray McDaniel burn a pile of limbs he had picked up out of his yard.
Mr. and Mrs. Fulkerson came to visit Ray last week from Kansas City. Mrs. Fulkerson is Ray’s sister.
The motorcycles are beginning to go by almost every day. One day there were 12 in a row. Marty Morrison has his fertilizer trucks on the road, and the big truckloads of logs are out there also.
Richard Terry got his little greenhouse finished and filled it with flowers and plants in pots. Later he will have the good tomatoes, cucumbers and other vegetables to sell.
The April food pantry will be on Wednesday, April 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on Wednesday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
It’s time to start cleaning the Smith Chapel Cemetery. We would appreciate it if anyone who has flowers or the tall stands on the ground next to the stones would please remove them. This helps with mowing and weed-eating.  
We had visitors at church Sunday and invite them back anytime.
We hope the ones who have had the colds or flu are better and don’t have to take a lot of medicine.
