Tecumseh Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual hunters breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the firehouse on Highway 160 east of Lake Norfork.  All proceeds will go toward new equipment for the TVFD. The price is $7 for adults and children over 11, $3 for children age 7-11. 
Bakersfield’s Bayou Masonic Lodge #365 will host a fish fry for the first day of firearms deer season. Serving will start at noon Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Masonic lodge in Bakersfield. The cost is by donation.

Jule Kruger feeds sorghum canes into the  mill while Bill Barnes collects the pressed canes; a local rancher will use the discarded canes as cattle fodder. Barnes, a tractor repairman, rigged a power takeoff to provide the power the mill that originally was provided by a horse.
Six area residents, all members of the Ozarks Neighborly Exchange, will be making sorghum this week on a century-old cast-iron sorghum mill formerly owned by the late Dale Morrison of Dawt.  The sorghum will be made behind the old Ledbetter store on Highway 160 at the west end of Theodosia....
The Wasola VFD will host a fundraiser pig roast at noon Sunday, Nov. 5, at the firehouse on Highway 5 about 12 miles north of Gainesville. Meals will be served for $8 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12 and kids 5 and under. Everyone is welcome.
Theodosia United Methodist Church will host its annual roasted chicken dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at the church on Highway 160 in Theodosia. Dinner will be served by donation, with all proceeds benefiting local Ozark County benevolences. 
Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will host a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at Dora High School in Dora.
