Lady Lions wallop Lutie, 97-33

The Bakersfield Lady Lions had four players in double figures Monday night with Betsy Minkler's 29 points leading the way to a blowout 97-33 win over intra-county foe Lutie.

Bakersfield punished the Lady Indians, outscoring them 27-6 and 23-8 in the first two quarters to take a 50-14 lead into the locker room at halftime.

After the break, the Lady Lions exploded for 31 points in the third quarter en route to the big win at home.

Others scoring for Bakersfield were Kristin Marsh with 13, Sarah Donahue with 11 and Valerie Amerlan with 11. Larissa Britt netted 7 for Bakersfield, as did Kody Smith. Candice Summers finished the game with 6 points.

Individual stats were not provided by Lutie coaches.

Bakersfield also won the JV contest 21-11.

Bakersfield will compete next week in the Seymour tournament, while Lutie will host Bradleyville for homecoming Feb. 8.
