The Lady Lions lost to Salem on Thursday 9-7 in 9 innings. Bakersfield trailed by three runs going into the bottom of the seventh but scored three to tie it and force extra innings. Emma French pitched all nine innings, striking out 12 but five unearned runs on the defense were too much to overcome.

In the last game of the day Whitney Graham struck out five and gave up one hit, beating Winona 12-1.  French blasted her second homer of the day over the center field fence to lead the offense.
