Lady Lions 1-2 on the road

The Bakersfield Lady Lions were 1-2 last week during a three-game road stretch.
Bakersfield lost to Liberty on Jan. 23, 65-51.
Kody Smith led the Lady Lions with 12 points and Sarah Donahue netted 11. Betsy Minkler chipped in 10.
"Eighteen turnovers and poor rebounding were too much to overcome," said Bakersfield coach Doyne Byrd.
On Tuesday Bakersfield traveled to Viola, Ark., and the Lady Longhorns defended their home court, beating Bakersfield 67-58.
Four Lady Lions scored in double figures, including Minkler with 19, Smith with 11 and MaKayla Surham and Sarah Donahue with 10 each.
The Arkansas swing continued Thursday for the Lady Lions, but the Norfork (Ark.) Lady Panthers weren't as tough. Bakersfield picked up the 69-53 win.
Minkler heated up the net with 22 points, followed by Donahue with 12. Eight Lady Lions scored four or more points, Byrd said.
Bakersfield travels to Eminence Friday for a 6 p.m. game with the state-ranked Lady Redwings.
The Bakersfield boys also lost to Viola, 60-32.
