Lady Bulldogs whip 4A, 5A teams

Gainesville’s Lady Bulldogs are drawing statewide attention and proving they deserve it after holding their own last week against  teams from Pacific, a Class 4 school, and Lindbergh, a Class 5 school.
The Lady Bulldogs hosted the Pacific Lady Indians Friday night and held on for a 63-41 victory. “It was a tough, hard-fought game against a bigger school with more physical size than we have seen in a while,” said head coach Jack Harris. “We kept our composure and executed in the second half to pull away. Destiny Scott, Hali Wallace, Aspyn Britt and Shai Meek made important contributions off the bench to help when we got into foul trouble.”
Scout Jeckstadt led the scoring with 21 points, followed by Madison Strong with 19. Destiny Scott added 8, followed by Annie Noah with 6, Abby Britt with 3 and Michia Jenkins, Hali Wallace and Aspyn Britt with 2 each.
Caroline Rogers led the scoring for Pacific with 12.
Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs traveled to the West Plains Civic Center, where they soundly defeated the Lindbergh Lady Pirates 68-30, bringing their season record to 4-0 on the year, 1-0 in the Summit Conference.
“We came out hot, making nine 3-pointers in the first half,” Harris said. “We had them on their heels from the beginning and never let them back in it.”
Madison Strong led the scoring with 23, followed by Abby Britt with 14, Annie Noah with 10 and Scout Jeckstadt and Michia Jenkins with 8 each. Destiny Scott and Shai Meek scored 2, and Kaitlyn Conrad scored 1.
