Harmon Johns of Gainesville, left, won first place in the boys age 10-11 Hoop Shoot competition Jan. 14 in Mountain Home, Arkansas, successfully sinking 16 of 25 free-throw attempts. Bo Bean of Bakersfield, right, won second place in the age category, making 15 of 25 shots. The competition, now in its 45th year, was sponsored by Mountain Home Elks Lodge 1714. Local winners advance to the state competition to be held in February in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
