GHS Lady Bulldogs, Dora Lady Falcons compete in tournament

Gainesville’s Lady Bulldogs advanced to the quarterfinals of the Mountain Grove Pharmacy Holiday Tournament without playing a single game. The undefeated Gainesville girls, seeded in the number one spot, had a bye in the first round of the tourney, which started Saturday, Dec. 26. On Monday, the Lady Bulldogs were expecting to play number eight seed Dixon, who defeated the Dora Lady Falcons, 48-39, in Saturday’s first round of games, but high water forced the Dixon Lady Pilots to forfeit.
At 5 p.m. Tuesday, Gainesville played the number five seed Willow Springs Lady Bears, who defeated fourth-seeded Plato 69-64 Monday. Results of the game were unavailable at press time.
Dora’s Lady Falcons  battled hard against Eminence in Tuesday’s consolation quarterfinals but came just short of a win, falling to the Lady Redwings 48-46.
