GHS golf team wins at recent tournaments

The Gainesville High School golf team won two out of their three recent tournaments (results of an April 15 tournament in Mountain Grove were not available at press time). Gainesville won first place at its own tournament held at Lost in the Woods golf course in Theodosia. Six teams were present with Gainesville winning with a score of 408. Five golfers make up a team, but only the top four scores are added into the team score. Thomas Ritter had the best overall score of all the 32 golfers in the tournament. Scores for Gainesville included Thomas Ritter, 85; Luke Brantingham, 97; Zach Voss, 108; Seth Evans, 118; and Trey Crawford, 118.

Gainesville also took first place in the Lutie Tournament with a team score of 371. Thomas Ritter took second place overall and Luke Brantingham took fourth overall. Gainesville scores included Thomas Ritter, 84; Luke Brantingham, 89; Zach Voss, 96; Seth Evans, 102; and Josh Peter, 105.

In the Seymour Tournament on April 9, Gainesville took eighth place out of 18 teams with a team score of 376. Thomas Ritter took 11th place overall out of 90 golfers. Scoring for Gainesville were Thomas Ritter, 86; Luke Brantingham, 90; Seth Evans, 97; Zach Voss, 103; and Trey Crawford, 104.
