Zanoni news: May 2, 2018

The weather has greatly improved. The sunshine is so nice, and there’s a lot of lawn mowing going on. There’s also a lot of spreading fertilizer and lime and spraying weeds and sprouts in the pastures. The old cows are enjoying the green grass; they lie down and rest when they get full.
Everyone is invited to a “Back to the Bible” gospel meeting at Smith Chapel Church of Christ starting on Sunday, May 6, with Ivie Powell and Jake Long speaking. Bible study starts at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, with morning worship at 11:15 and evening worship at 6 p.m. Services on Monday and Tuesday start at 7 p.m.
I visited with Connie Davidson in the grocery store last week. Always good to see those you worked with in the past.
Leroy and Norma Morrison, Dwaine and Betty Morrison and Wayne and Debbie Mallow made a tour through the Caney Mountain Refuge Saturday. After the tour, they went to Red’s Fish House near Mountain Home to eat.
Some of the dogwood trees may get pretty after it has warmed up.
The sight across the road now is a big old coyote. He catches bugs or something on his way to the pond.
The May dates for the Ozark County Food Pantry will be May 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and May 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On May 5 at 9 a.m., there will be a work day at Smith Chapel Cemetery. Over the years, some stones have moved on their foundation, and the base rock is gone. Anyone wishing to come help will be welcome.
Our sympathy to the Zelma Boatright family. Zelma passed away April 28. Sympathy also to the Don Harden family; his wife Lindie died April 21.
