Bulldog teams pick up wins

The Gainesville Bulldogs picked up four Ws during a late- January hot streak, beating Bakersfield, Dora, Koshkonong and Lutie in recent action.

No stats were available from Bakersfield coaches.

The game with Dora on Jan. 24 was no cakewalk. It's almost always a battle any time these two Ozark County teams meet. But 20-point second and fourth quarters lifted the Bulldogs to a 69-66 victory over the Falcons.

Next on the hit list for Gainesville was the Koshkonong Blue Jays. After keeping up with the Bulldogs through the first quarter where the score was 10-8 in favor of Gainesville, the Blue Jays' feathers were really ruffled in the second quarter as Gainesville outscored Kosh, 28-10.

From there, the Bulldogs cruised to a 68-31 win.

Paxton Smith led all scorers with 14 points.

In Theodosia on a Friday night, Gainesville stepped on the accelerator and hammered the Lutie Indians 74-49.

Cody Garlough and Paxton Smith were making the scoreboard sing. Garlough had 20 points to lead the 'Dogs while Smith followed with 18. Lukas Lok netted 12.

Josh Daffron led Lutie's effort with 16 points.

The Bulldogs were scheduled to play at home Tuesday against Seymour. Details from that game were unavailable at press time. Gainesville will host Norwood Friday at 6 p.m.
