BHS Lions undefeated after wins over Norfork and Dora

The Bakersfield Lions have proven they’re a force to be reckoned with after eight straight wins and no losses this season.
The Lions added a big win to their record when they defeated the Norfork, Arkansas, Panthers 73-60 Friday, Dec. 18. “It was a good win in a tough atmosphere,” said coach Jonathon Winslow.
Bakersfield led by 2 at halftime but fell behind 7 points in the third quarter. The Lions had a strong finish, though, outscoring Norfork 40-20 in the last 12 minutes of the game.
The Lions were led by Wyatt Summers with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks. Joe Vaughan scored 14 points and pulled down 12 rebounds while Noah Shrable added 17 points. Devin Murphy scored 8 points and led in assists with 7. Jake Grayham chipped in 7 points.
The Lions headed north on Monday to take on cross-county rival Dora and defeated the Falcons 66-29. The Bakersfield boys came out hard, holding the Falcons to just 2 points while Bakersfield racked up 25 by the end of the first quarter.
Noah Shrable led the scoring with 21 points for Bakersfield. Wyatt Summers and Joe Vaughan scored 8 points each, followed by Nash Bentley and Logan Roberts with 7 each. Jake Grayham added 6, and Brandon Duke scored 4.
The next game for the Lions is against Crocker at 6 p.m. on Dec. 26 at the Cabool Holiday Tournament. Bakersfield is seeded third. See www.ozarkcountytimes. com for the complete bracket.
